Students to rally today

Kathmandu, December 20:

Students will take out a protest rally from the Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus at 2 pm tomorrow to press the government to appoint officials in the Tribhuvan University at the earliest, a student leader announced today.

The announcement was made after leaders of the Free Students’ Union of the Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus could not meet Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and hand him over a memorandum.

“The prime minister’s office had assured us of a meeting with the PM today. But the PM didn’t appear and his personal assistant asked us to submit the memorandum to the PM through him. We refused to hand over the memorandum to the personal assistant,” Bal Gopal Upadhyay, the former president of the FSU of the campus, said.
