Sub-committee’s report on Lokman Karki endorsed

Kathmandu February 9

The Impeachment Motion Recommendation Committee of the Parliament today endorsed the report of its sub-committee, which had earlier proposed to direct the government to take action against dismissed chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Lokman Singh Karki.

IMRC member Ram Narayan Bidari told The Himalayan Times that the committee would submit the report to Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar tomorrow. The report would be tabled in the full House meeting later.

The sub-committee in its report said Karki was guilty of contempt of the court. The report also said that Karki abused his powers and took extra-jurisdictional decisions, including the interference in entrance examination of Kathmandu University Medical College.

The Supreme Court had disqualified Karki for the position of CIAA chief on January 8.
