Surprise check of aircraft at TIA

The Monitoring and Supervision Unit of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and experts from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, conducted a surprise check of the Gorkha Airlines 9N-AGQ aircraft at the Tribhuvan International Airport today.
The team, led by joint-secretary at the tourism ministry and coordinator of the monitoring team, Nagendra Ghimire, found that the aircraft, which was to from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar, was carrying an excess baggage of 139 kg.
The aircraft’s anti-collision light was found to be dysfunctional. It did not have a Standard Operating Procedure as well.
The team has directed CAAN to take necessary action against those responsible for such mistakes, added the statement.
