Team of Indian defence college here

Kathmandu, September 2:

A 17-member team from the National Defence College (NDC) of India arrived here today on a four-day visit.

A press release issued here by the Embassy of India said that the team comprises civil and military officers from India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

The college organises such tours to neighbouring and other foreign countries to enable

student officers to interact with their counterparts and to acquaint themselves with the sociopolitical, economic, defence and foreign policy aspects of the countries they visit as part of their curriculum, stated the release.

“The team will exchange views with senior civil and military officials here,” it added.

According to the statement, the team is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, SAARC secretary-general and the Chief of Army Staff.

Senior officers of the Indian Defence Forces and Civil Services as well as Armed Forces Officers of friendly foreign countries attend the course, said the statement.
