Teenage labourers kidnap 8yo boy for ransom
KATHMANDU: Police said they have rescued an eight-year-old boy from the clutches of kidnappers and arrested two suspects.
The suspects areĀ teenagers working as menial labourersĀ in the Capital.
They allegedly kidnapped the victim from Narayantar on the outskirts of Kathmandu on Saturday morning and demanded Rs 70,000 as ransom from his father for his safe release.
One of the suspects has been identified as Subash Sharma (18) of Parsa while the other is 15-year-old boy from Makawanpur district.
A team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested the suspects from Gokarneshwar and handed over the victim to his parents yesterday.
After preliminary investigation, the duo have been sent to the Metropolitan Crime Range, Teku, today for legal action.
They face abduction and hostage-taking charges.
