KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three persons in possession of illegal currencies on Tuesday.

Police personnel deployed from the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathamandu and Baneshwor-based Metropolitan Police Circle arrested Biki Deujan (38) and Prasad Deujan (32) of Sinamangal and Shyam Thami (40) of Barabise of Sindupalchok district while they were walking in possession of "illegal" USD 4,000 (40 notes of USD 100 denomination) and Rs 50,000  (100 notes of Rs 500 denominations).

Police said further investigation is underway.
