Three panels for Valley on views on new statute

Kathmandu March 1:

The Constituent Assembly (CA) team deputed to Kathmandu valley to collect public opinion to write new constitution has formed three sub-committees for three districts -Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

A meeting of the 37-member team headed by Narayanman Bijukchhe, chairman of Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party today formed the sub-committees, assigning 21 members to Kathmandu, nine to Lalitpur and six members to Bhaktapur. The sub panels will start collecting public opinion from March 4, said Narahari Acharya, a team member from Nepali Congress. NC president Girija Prasad Koirala, CPN-UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal, NC senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, Barsha Man Pun ‘Ananta’ of the Unified CPN-Maoist are included in the team.
