A taste of music

Music is sure to add flavours at The Himalayan Times International Food Festival 2016. Rocking the serene Gokarna Forest Resort Golf Course on November 12 with lively numbers, while you devour on the world’s best cuisines, is 1974AD #thenewlineup, Robin and The New Revolution and Vishan N' The Elektrix.

“Music plays a vital role in our life. And music is very important for such festivals — I think music adds more flavour to food,” guitarist Dipesh Singh of Robin and The New Revolution shared on the music aspect of the upcoming THT Food Fest.

And they are ready to rock the stage with their popular numbers like Keta Keti and Dum Maro Dum.

The Nepal’s favourite band 1974 AD had performed at THT Food Fest in 2014 with its new lineup, and they will be back to thrill the audience with old and new numbers including songs from their new album Hazaar Sapana this time too.

“Performing in this Food Fest is more like a holiday than a job. It is more like a picnic to me. People eat, dance and enjoy with music,” the band’s guitarist Manoj Kumar KC expressed.

Last time, as per him, crowd started gathering around the concert stage as the band started performing. It happened “back then and I’m sure it will repeat”.

Moreover, he likes the idea of “performing in such festival which enhances music — it brings together people from locals to foreigners in the audience”. The venue adds to their performance, to which he said, “Gokarna has such a good ambience. I love that greenery very much.”

Performing at the Fest for the first time is Vishan N’ The Elektrix. And they are excited about it.

“I have had experience of such types of festivals but I will be performing for the first time,” the vocalist Visan Yonjan divulged, adding, “We are excited to make audiences dance with our rock music.”

This band will perform the originals — Karan, Bhanana along with some cover numbers.
