THT staffer dead

Kathmandu, April 30:

Ramesh Maharjan, 38, a technical assistant at The Himalayan Times and Annapurna Post, passed away last night. According to family members, Maharjan suddenly got sick at around 7pm after reaching home from the office. He was rushed to the Bir Hospital but died while undergoing treatment.

Maharjan’s last rites were performed today at Pachali ghat, Teku. THT editor Ram N Pradhan, editorial director of Annapurna Post Shasi Pradhan, were there among others to pay their respects. Maharjan had joined THT on a one year contract on August 1, 2003.

He showed no symptons of sickness in the office, so his sudden demise has shocked the entire THT family. Maharjan was born on Baisakh 2, 2023 BS. He is survived by a wife, two daughters and a son.
