KATHMANDU: United States Ambassador to Nepal Peter W Bodde has been appointed new US envoy to Libya. US President Barack Obama announced his name as new ambassador to Tripoli on Tuesday.

Bodde was appointed Ambassador to Nepal in June 2012. Career diplomat Alaina B Teplitz will replace Bodde as US top diplomat in Kathmandu. President Obama had announced her name as new envoy to Nepal in March.

Bodde’s new diplomatic assignment is subject to the US Senate’s confirmation hearing, whose date has not been announced.
