KATHMANDU: A man died after a tipper hit him in Kalanki of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14 on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as a 43-year-old Bijay Rijal of Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-18 in Makwanpur district, currently living in Kalanki.

According to police, the incident occurred after the tipper (Ba 4 Kha 4915) knocked down Rijal, critically injuring him yesterday.

Rijal was rushed to the Kalanki-based Sahid Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment, informed police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the heavy four-wheeler and detained its driver for further investigation.
