TMSF to fund education of kids orphaned in Madhes agitation
Kathmandu, April 22
Tarai Madhes Student Front, a student wing of Mahantha Thakur led Tarai Madhes Democratic Party today decided to fund the education of children of those killed during the Madhes movements.
According to TMSF Chair Suresh Mandal, the TMSF will fund the children’s education up to secondary level, which will mainly include expenses for text books, uniforms, and school bags.
Mandal said the front would give priority to community schools but in case such schools were not found in the targeted children’s vicinity, then the front would also provide assistance to children to get enrolled in private schools.
He said the front would also establish a Madhes Martyrs Education Academy to support the education of the children orphaned during Madhes agitation.
The front is scheduled to hold its first General Convention from May 11 to14. Mandal said the front expected participation of over a 1,000 students representatives in the convention.
