The annual Toastmasters conference in Nepal, CITATION 2024, was held on Sunday at Aloft Kathmandu. This year's theme, "Together for 100," celebrated the 100th anniversary of Toastmasters International and emphasized Nepal Toastmasters' goal of reaching 100 clubs by 2026.
The conference brought together over 300 members from more than 60 clubs across the country, including Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Jhapa, Dharan, Biratnagar, Butwal, Bhairahwa, Hetauda, Birgunj, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, and Chitwan, according to the statement issued by the organizers.
The event's keynote speaker, Atul Satya Koushik, a renowned motivational speaker and expert in Hindu mythology from Mumbai, delivered an inspiring address on leadership and communication, which received a standing ovation from the audience.
Among the conference highlights was the presentation of the Communicator Award 2024 to media personality Bhusan Dahal for his outstanding communication skills. This prestigious award is given annually to a non-Toastmaster who has made significant contributions to effective communication.
The event also featured a Humorous Speech Showcase with participants from five divisions, a stand-up comedy performance by Toastmaster Seema Golchha, and a variety of entertainment segments, including dances and songs by Toastmaster members. A team-building session led by Prachi Jain fostered collaboration and camaraderie, while group activities and door prizes enhanced participant engagement.
CITATION 2024 was a resounding success, highlighting the growing influence of Toastmasters in Nepal and setting a high standard for future events, the statement further adds.
