Toppers’ papers to be published

Kathmandu, October 24:

Higher Secondary Education Board has decided to publish the 10 best answer papers of major subjects of Class XI and XII of board examinations for the benefit of students of remote districts.

Dr Upendra Kumar Koirala, vice-chairman of the board, said the copies of the best answer papers will be distributed to the students of remote areas for free.

“It is primarily aimed at students of remote areas who are deprived of reference books to help them enhance their writing skills,” he said, adding: “We hope it will be useful for the teachers as well.”

According to him, the names of examinees and their schools will be withheld. The board will publish the answer papers of English, Mathematics and Science, “since most students fail in these subjects.”

“Market is already awash with guess papers and guides but these papers are meant to help students write answers in the examination,” he said.

He argued that it was not a strategy to increase pass percentage of the students in higher education.

“It is an effort to cultivate a better teaching-learning culture. We want students to emulate good students and teachers can plan how to teach in a better way,” he said.
