Traffic police in the Kathmandu Valley took action against 2,111 drivers for violating traffic rules over the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 565,000 in revenue.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 109 drivers were penalised for drink-driving, while 184 were booked for operating ride-sharing services in violation of regulations.
Similarly, 103 drivers were fined for disobeying traffic signals and 222 for overspeeding.
Police also took action against 138 drivers for lane indiscipline, 67 for honking in restricted zones, and 86 for parking on footpaths.
In addition, 42 drivers were penalised for picking up and dropping passengers at undesignated locations, while 1,160 others faced action for various traffic rule violations.
