KATHMANDU: A traffic police, who was injured in a scooter accident in Ekantakuna of Lalitpur, died during the course of treatment at a hospital on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Suman Prasad Kandel, Police Constable at Metropolitan Traffic Police Circle, Kalimati.

According to police, Kandel was riding the scooter (Ba 94 6197) at the time of the incident.

Kandel was found injured by the driver of a car (Ba 16 Cha 6802) and rushed him to Alka Hospital where he breathed his last during the course of treatment, informed Chief of Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Basanta Kumar Pant.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, MTPD said.
