Tremor jolts Kathmandu Valley, epicentre in Balkhu-Kalimati area

KATHMANDU: A tremor was felt in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley at around 10:42 am on Tuesday.

According to National Seismological Centre (NSC), the aftershock was of local magnitude 4.3 with its epicentre in the Kathmandu Valley itself.

The epicentre lies at a location with its coordinates 27.70ºN, 85.29ºE, near Department of Foreign Employment, in Kalimati area of Kathmandu .

Earlier at 4:20 am today, a minor aftershock of local magnitude 3.7 was recorded at the Kirtipur-Panga area.

The NSC records show that as many as 375 aftershock of local magnitude 4.0 or above have followed the devastating earthquake of local magnitude 7.6 till this morning.
