KATHMANDU: Two persons have been injured after the scooter they were riding on was hit by a truck near Kalanki Chok in Kathmandu, today.

Police have identified the injured as scooter rider Tanka Gurung (38) and pillion rider Sarita Pradhan (39), both residing in Maitri Nagar of Kathmandu.

The truck with registration number Na 7 Kha 2708 coming towards Kalanki from Thankot hit the scooter (Ba 52 Pa 3689) coming from opposite direction, near Kalanki crossroad, according to a witness.

Both the injured were rushed to Kalanki-based Nepal National Hospital. Kalanki Traffic Police Office informed that Gurung has sustained minor injuries whereas Pradhan is in critical condition.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
