All TSC test papers to be marked by 2 examiners

Bhaktapur, April 7

Teachers expecting promotion without hard work and required qualifications are going to be disappointed this time around with the Teachers Service Commission deciding to use two examiners to mark each exam paper.

At present, there is a practice of only one examiner marking a paper. However, as two examiners would mark the papers differently, the examinees would be given an average score.

TSC has decided to use two examiners to mark the exam script of secondary level first class teachers and lower secondary level first class teachers. They had appeared in the test for promotion a month ago.

Sudarshan Marahattha, spokesperson, TSC, said, “We are going to use two examiners to mark each exam paper of secondary level first class and lower secondary first class teachers.” He said the new marking system was introduced to make the examinations fair.

TSC had conducted the exam for promotion of six levels of teachers from primary level first class to secondary level second class on February 28.
