KIRTIPUR: Thanks to an electric checkout system installed on its building, the Central Library of the TU has been able to prevent the theft of books. The library had incurred losses in the past due to the theft of books. The machine installed at the library gives signals whenever stolen books are being taken out of the library. Security guards then nab those trying to steal the books. In-charge of the library Krishna Mani Bhandari warned that action would be taken against anyone trying to decamp with books.
