LALITPUR:

The Metropolitan Police Circle Chapagaon on Tuesday arrested two persons on charge of raping and murdering 36-year old Kancchi Tamang last Thursday at Seraphat, Lalitpur.

The police said those arrested were Shyam Tamang and Sanukanchha Tamang.

In another incident in Kathmandu, 17 tolas of gold and cash worth Rs 10,000 were reported to have been stolen from the house of Chij Kumar Shrestha at Thamel this afternoon, the Kathmandu Metropolitian police said.

“There was nobody in the house when the theft took place,” a police official at the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu. Shrestha is a trader.
