KATHMANDU: Nepal Police said security personnel have arrested two persons, including an Indian national, on charge of running an online gambling racket from Kathmandu.

Police identified the suspects as Chandan Kumar Sah and Bunty Gupta. Gupta originially hails from New Delhi and currently resides in Dhobidhara.

Acting on a tip-off, a team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Janasewa had apprehended Saha from Chuski Mo:Mo Centre at the Kathmandu Mall on Monday, police said.

Based on Sah's statements, police arrested Gupta from Sundhara on Tuesday.

Police said they have seized one tablet, one smartphone and Rs 2,40,000 and four cheques from Sah's possession.

Further investigation is underway, police said.
