KATHMANDU: Police said two minor girls drowned in two separate places of Lalitpur district on Monday.

Five-year-old Asmita Sah, daughter of Indian national Dineshwar Saha, had fall into a pond of a brick factory at Imadol. She was taken to the Global Hospital, Gwarko, where she died, police said.

Another girl, three-year-old Sujita Tamang who accidentally fell into a reserve water tank of a house in Damkol Mod, died in Alka Hospital. Her parents hail from Dhading district.

Meanwhile, two persons riding on a motorcycle were injured after being hit by a speeding car at Lazimpat of Kathmandu last night.

Both of them were sent to the Maharajganj-based Teaching Hospital for treatment, police said.
