Two panels to vie for Nepal Medical Association leadership
KATHMANDU: Two groups are competing for the new leadership of Nepal Medical Association, the umbrella organisation of Nepali medical doctors.
There would be competition between Professional Inclusive Doctors Group and Democratic Doctors Group in the election.
Both the groups have already announced their candidacies for 13-member working committee for the three-year term.
Dr Ramesh Dhakal of Professional Inclusive Doctors Group and Dr Muktiram Shrestha of Democratic Doctors Group have filed their candidacy for the post of Chairman.
Two-phase election has been scheduled where first-phase election will take place on September 2 and 3 at 15 different places out of Kathmandu Valley while second-phase election from September 6-10 in Kathmandu Valley.
The NMA has as many asĀ 5,305 members.
