UML drive to help flood victims

Kathmandu, August 30 :

The Kathmandu District Committee of the CPN-UML today started collecting cash and other materials in the capital, Kirtipur Municipality and all Village Development Committees of the district to provide assistance to people affected by floods and landslides in the Far and Mid-Western regions.

Secretary of the UML Kathmandu district committee, Rameshwor Phuyal, said relief material collection drive that started from Bhotahiti Chowk would continue for four days.

Addressing a meeting at Bhotahiti, Phuyal appealed to party cadres, sympathisers and the public to donate whatever they can to the victims of floods and landslides in the regions.

A team of party cadres went through Ason, Indrachowk, New Road, Old Kathmandu Metropolis, Khichapokhari, Pipalbot and Juddha Salik Chowk asking people for money, food stuff and clothes.
