UML points out need to move together with NC
KATHMANDU: Ruling CPN-UML has stressed on the need to move ahead together with the opposition party Nepali Congress to deal with national issues.
The UML Standing Committee meeting held at the UML Parliamentary Party office at Singha Durbar in the Capital today took a decision in this effect.
The meeting handed over the responsibility to Prime Minister and party Chairman KP Sharma Oli to hold consultations on the issue.
After the meeting, UML Standing Committee member Surendra Pandey said that UML has pointed out the need to move ahead together with the NC to sort out the current national problems, notwithstanding NC's move to breach the "gentlemen's agreement" struck earlier.
The meeting has assigned the responsibility of forging coordination in course of the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker to the chair Oli.
The Prime Minister and party chair Oli briefed the meeting about the latest political updates.
Similarly, the meeting has urged the government to prioritise the supply management.
Similarly, the meeting held discussions on the issues of expanding the Council of Ministers. The party, however, failed to make any concrete decision in this regard.
Leader Pandey said that the meeting stressed on the process and modality of finalising the name for possible ministers to be sent from the party in the incumbent government.
