UML PP stresses on consensus during presidential election
KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting of the ruling CPN-UML has pointed out the need of holding elections of the President and the Vice-president on the basis of consensus to rid the nation of current problems.
The PP meeting chaired by party Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held at PM's official Residence in Baluwatar concluded the same.
Chair Oli, also the PP leader, stressed on unity and co-work among all political parties in this critical phase.
Following the meeting, party senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal quoting the PP leader said "The UML wants to move ahead with consensus and it is the demand of the nation as well."
Earlier, the Standing Committee meeting of the party held last night decided to contest for the post of the President on the basis of consensus, but the name of the candidate is yet to get finalised.
