KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Monday said that his party would promote domestic industries if it won the upcoming local level elections.

Speaking at an election campaign in Lagantole of Kathmandu Metropolitan City today, the former Prime Minister said that bankruptcy at Bhrikuti Paper Industry, Bansbari Leather Shoes Industry, and other domestic industries was unfortunate. Such condition would not be repeated after his party won the local polls, according to him.

People were compelled to use foreign products due to the failure of the domestic industries, he said.

He expressed the party's commitment to making the KMC corruption-free.

Bidya Sundar Shakya is the CPN-UML's mayoral candidate in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
