UNHCR awards NGF
BHAKTAPUR: Nepal Goodweave Foundation has recently received US $ 15,000 from United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for its contribution towards eliminating child labour from the carpet industry.
Speaking at function organised to mark its 20th anniversary on Thursday, Ubaraj Bhandari, general secretary, NGF, said the organisation had received the award from UNHCR for its contribution towards eliminating child labour.
NGF had organised a celebration programme at Ghampe Danda in Bhaktapur, where Lopsang Lama, founder of Gomang Carpet, started the function by distributing chocolates to children.
