KATHMANDU: At least three persons sustained injuries after an unidentified group detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) at the Ncell head office in Nakkhu, Lalitpur this evening, police said.

A duty officer at Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur informed that the injured have been rushed to Alka, B&B and Mediciti hospitals for treatment.

According to police spokesperson Uttam Raj Subedi, two women suffered minor injuries while a man who was rushed to B&B in Satdobato is in a critical condition.

The two injured women -- Ayusha Manandhar and Pratiksha Khadka -- are undergoing treatment at Mediciti and Alka hospitals respectively, Subedi added.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway and police personnel in numbers have been deployed around the valley to run security checks.
