United Nations’ concern
Kathmandu:
The United Nations and Donor Peace Support Support Working Group on UN Security Council resolution 1325 on Tuesday expressed concern about the lack of a public draft of the bill to
establish the Commission of Inquiry on Disappearances.
Issuing a press statement, the United Nations Information Centre said a panel whose very purpose is to probe and disclose the truth about cases of disappeared ought to be set up with full transparency.
The statement said that the Peace Support Support Working Group (PSWG) cannot assess whether the bill addresses gender issues about disappearances.
