KATHMANDU, APRIL 15
Chairman of CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the necessity of unity among national forces to guide the nation towards good governance and prosperity.
During the UML parliamentary party meeting held today at the Parliament building in Naya Baneshwar, he stressed the importance of advancing the country's interests with the collective effort of national powers.
Oli made it clear that leftist forces would unite at the appropriate time, but not with those who pose harm to the party. He expressed his commitment to uniting leftist forces while acknowledging the presence of selfish elements that aim to weaken the movement.
Highlighting the significance of the party's role in parliamentary committees, Oli urged for active and effective participation. He emphasized the need to prevent erroneous decisions in parliament to maintain its integrity in the eyes of history.
Moreover, Oli underscored the importance of safeguarding national interests against the influence of vested interest groups. Additionally, he advised party MPs to refrain from frequent foreign visits and instead focus on submitting essential suggestions for the upcoming fiscal year's budget.
Former Prime Minister Oli reiterated that parliamentarians' primary responsibility is to legislate and cautioned against haphazard self-presentation and incomplete development projects.
