KATHMANDU: Commander of the US Pacific Command Admiral Harry B Harris also paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat at the latter's office, on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Minister Mahat thanked the US government for its continuous assistance in various development projects in Nepal.

He lauded the role of the US Army in rescue operations during the time after the earthquake struck Nepal on April 25, 2015.

Admiring Nepal's role in restoring peace process, Admiral Harris said establishment of peace in the Nepal was exemplary.

He also extended his best wishes for the success of the local level elections slated for May 14 in Nepal.
