KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 23
The US Embassy is all set to host Hip Hop Mela, a cultural exchange event celebrating artistic expression and cultural exchange, in Kathmandu this Saturday.
This unique event, promises an electrifying fusion of music performances, dance, spoken word, exhibition battles, and visual arts and features live graffiti art and visual arts exhibition as one of the highlights, adding to the excitement.
During the event, audiences will also get a unique chance to see performances by Hip Hop artists and musicians from Nepal and the United States.
Among the lineup are Kiran Nepali, Laure & Bad Kompany, Vyoma, Faithom, Beat Boxers Nishanta Gauchan & Rikesh Neupane, Amazumi, and Professor TRiH, alongside American talents like Mazi Mutafa, Substantial, Shanna Lim, and DJ Fleg.
The US Embassy has brought four American artists to Kathmandu, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop's birth as a part of The Arts Envoy HipHop Program 2024. During the program, American artists will collaborate with Nepali rappers, dancers, and producers, hosting workshops and discussions to impart technical skills in spoken word, rap, production, and dance.
The program provides a unique opportunity for Nepali artists to share their work with the public and for communities to come together to celebrate and appreciate the art form, showcasing the skills and growth of the participants in from of a live audience, the US Embassy said.
The event, happening at Annapurna Pavilion, Durbar Marg, offers free admission.
