Vitamin A drive begins today

Kathmandu, April 17:

The Ministry of Health is starting the national vitamin A programme from tomorrow. Under the programme, all the children between the ages of six months to two years will be given vitamin A capsules, while the children between the ages of two to five years will also be given deworming tablets along with the vitamin capsules. The vitamin A capsules and deworming medications will be distributed by female community health workers in the centres allocated in each ward of VDCs or municipalities. During the next two days, some 46,000 female health workers will distribute vitamin capsules to 35,00,000 children and the deworming tablets to 23,50,000 children.
