KATHMANDU: Vice President Parmananda Jha on Saturday agreed to retake an oath of office and secrecy in the Nepali language as per the government's request.

The VP reached to this conclusion during his half an hour meeting with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at his residence in Gaurigahat.

VP assured the PM that he was in favour of sovereignty and the nationality of the country.

Mentioning to his oath controversy, the VP said that the nationality always remains above the person and the politics.

Likewise the VP also informed the PM about his review appeal, which was filed at the Supreme Court on Friday in response to its last Sunday's order to retake or step down from the post.

According to sources, the Sunday's cabinet meeting will request the VP for retaking a fresh oath in the Nepali language.
