Walkathon organised to raise awareness about breast cancer

KATHMANDU: A walkathon was organised by the Rose Foundation Nepal as a part of the National Breast Cancer Awareness month in Patan Durbar Square on Saturday.

The walkathon was initiated in order to spread awareness regarding breast cancer. Thousands of participants took part in the event to show their support to the cause, Srija Paudel, a member of the organisation said.

The rally that started from the Patan Durbar Square marched towards Pulchok and reached the Ideal Model School.

A flash mob and concert were also organised as a part of the programme in the School.

According to Cancer Research UK, the lifetime risk of developing breast cancer is 1 in 8 for women.
