YCL cadres stage protests
Kathmandu, October 1:
As part of the nationwide anti-corruption campaign, the Young Communist League (YCL) staged a gherao and hoisted black flags at the residences of the ministers in the then royal government, some security officials and the then Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.
The protest programme was carried out in the residences of 18 such individuals, according to the YCL.
The then ministers include Radha Krishna Mainali, Tulasi Giri, Buddhi Raj Bajracharya, Rabindra Khanal, Durga Khanal and Nitche Shumsher JB Rana, said Valley Chief of the YCL, Sagar. Former police officer Rup Sagar Moktan and former Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Bijayanath Bhattarai were also targeted under the programme.
Sagar also said that the individuals would not be allowed to sell their land and property. Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress (NC) has said its serious attention has been drawn over the YCL defaming NC central member Padam Narayan Chaudhari.
