YCL to help cops in policing
Kathmandu, May 31:
President of the Young Communist League (YCL) Ganesh Man Pun “Rashmi” said today that his organisation will not handle cases and complaints filed by the public.
Responding to journalists’ queries during an informal tea party organised to celebrate the declaration of Nepal as a republic in Buddhanagar, Pun said, “We will support the police instead.” Adding that the YCL did not have a declared policy to handle such cases, he said the outfit will correct itself “if such activities had been committed”.
He, however, said the YCL will not remain passive. “We will keep supporting people to raise voice against social absurdities,” the YCL president said.
He also informed that his organisation will hold interaction and discussion among youths to help write a good, youth-friendly constitution.
The YCL will also be involved in development works, including construction of roads, bridges and other infrastructure, he said.
“We plan to clean rivers of the Valley, including Bagmati and Bishnumati, soon” Pun said.
The tea party was attended by senior Maoist leader Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Minister for Information and Communication Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Pampha Bhusal, Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hisila
Yami and CA member Barsha Man Pun ‘Ananta’.
