YCL vows to return seized assets
Kathmandu, January 2:
Ganesh Man Pun, president of the Young Communist League (YCL) today assured to return the properties seized by YCl to their owners within three months, as per the agreement with Nepali Congress.
He said that they were working to expand their organisation by including students from
colleges and labours from different industries to include the upcoming generation in constructive works.
He said that they were heading towards the direction of a more systematic and scientific approach about land reforms to solve the problems of fragmented lands. Denying their organisation of being involved only in destructive activities he said that they were playing a vital role in the economical, political and social transformation of the nation.
Speaking at an interaction programme organised by the Reporter’s Club, he accused the various political parties of delaying drafting the new constitution. He also urged the government to form a ‘National Youth Policy’ to wipe out impunity and to bring the culprits to justice. He claimed that the YCL members were living in the industrial area after the request of the owners for the security of the area and denied any involvement of YCL members working in casinos.
Meanwhile Mahesh Basnet, president of the Youth Force accused the YCL of not being under the control of the Maoists and said that it was impossible to control their behaviour. He also accused the YCL of initiating the concept of ‘neo-bourgeois’ in the society.
“The problem created by the YCL can not be solved by dissolving the organisation since their organisation had already entered into hotels, casinos and industries secretly” added Basnet. He claimed that the YCL integration and rehabilitation was much tougher than integrating the Maoists combatants into the Nepal Army.
Mahendra Yadav, president of Tarun Dal said that the YCL had no option than to obey the agreements. He also warned the Youth Force of losing its identity if they followed the same path of the YCL.
