KATHMANDU: A youth, who was absconding after swindling a man of Rs 500,000 assuring him of a job in Japan, has been nabbed from the Capital on Wednesday.

Ibhan Singh Karki (22), a resident of Jorpati of Kathmandu, was arrested from Baluwatar of the Capital by a team deployed by the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD).

He was absconding after swindling Prakash Basnet from Khampa-3 of Sindhupalchok of the cash assuring that he would send him to Japan for an employment.

Police investigations revealed that Karki had not obtained licence to work for foreign employment while the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) was also searching him.

Meanwhile, the MPCD handed him over to the DoFE for further investigation and action.
