Youth pledge to change Nepal disaster risk reduction scenario
KATHMANDU: Around 30 youth from 12 districts across Nepal have made various commitments to make changes in disaster risk reduction scenario in the nation.
The youth held a meeting in Kathmandu for three days this week and made various commitments to work in disaster risk reduction, climate change, Sustainable Development Goals and other cross-cutting issues.
The Dynamic Youth Forum (DYF), the Children and Women and Social Service and Human Rights (CWISH) and the National Youth Council (NYC) had organised the National Youth Meet on Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change and Sustainable Development Goals in Chakupat of Lalitpur from Wednesday to Friday.
According to DYF President Amrit Devkota, the Declaration issued by the Meet also demanded that the government make appropriate policy changes to support the youth initiatives.
The event was financially supported by TDH Germany.
