21 Malaria patients detected in Nawalparasi

NAWALPARASI: As many as 21 malaria patients have been detected in Nawalparasi district so far.

Among the total patients, three were detected in western belt of the district while 18 in the eastern part have been detected with malaria epidemic, shared the District Public Health Office (DPHO), Nawalparasi.

According to Nawalparasi DPHO, malaria has been found in 10 more people during first nine months of the current fiscal year in comparison to same period last year.

Previous Ratanpur VDC located in the eastern Nawalparasi has been found with the highest number of patients with Malaria epidemic in the current fiscal year whereas it was Paklihawa last year, said District Public Health Office Chief Aruna Kumar mahato.

On the occasion of World Malaria Day, the District Public Health Office Nawalparasi has organised a campaign with the slogan 'Let us all participate in the campaign against Malaria'.

The disease is typically transmitted to human beings and other animals through the bite of an infected Anopheles mosquito. Fever, fatigue, nausea and headache are some common symptoms of the disease. If the disease aggravates, the skin of such patients may turn pale and patients may die.
