The exhibition features cartoons showcasing the bitter truth in Nepal’s education — degrading quality of education, increase in number of educated unemployed, business motive of educational institutions, short-cut to learning, and many more.

In a cartoon by veteran cartoonist Durga Baral, an elderly teacher is being carried by another man inside the classroom and the students are whispering to greet their science teacher. Rabindra Manandhar with the image of a girl with a laptop on one side of a see-saw and bundle of books on the other attempts to showcase how today’s generation depends on the Internet instead of their texts.

Dipak Gautam has strikingly put forth the condition of today’s educated youth with mushroom symbolising the increasing number of educational institutions. A student with certificate falling down a hill towards a crocodile represents unemployment.

Keshav Raj Khanal has featured the concern of a parent in his cartoon — the father is worried about his son’s school bill because his son has won a trophy in a competition. Then Devendra Thumkheli has presented how thesis can be purchased nowadays.

With short dialogues or a few words and colourful pictures, the cartoons are striking as well as informative.
