Bajaj V15 by July-end

HH Bajaj, authorised distributor of Bajaj Motorcycles, is planning to introduce its latest offering — V15 in the Nepali market. The new commuter motorcycle is expected to be launched by the end of July in the domestic market. The 150 cc motorcycle gets metal from the scrapped aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Claimed to be tough, bold and sturdy, the Bajaj V15 is the first bike to be launched in Nepal in V-segment.

“We expect V15 will create a different image among customers, as the bike acquires a classic look,” said Punam Singh, Head of Marketing at the company, adding that the bike has a unique classic look unlike any other bike in the commuter segment. Citing that the bike rider can experience the ease of riding and comfort, she said, “The V15 can be the ultimate bike for the urban crowd who want to stand out from other bikers.” She further added, “We are optimistic that this bike will contribute to around 400 units per month in the overall sales of bikes in the segment.”

Powered by a single cylinder, four-stroke, SOHC two-valve air cooled, DTS-i engine, this bike generates a maximum power of 11.83 bhp at 7500 rpm and peak torque of 13 Nm at 5500 rpm. The engine of the bike is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

This two-wheeler offers a ground clearance of 165 mm and wheelbase of 1315 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is 13 litres. It is equipped with 33mm front telescopic forks suspension and a twin-spring loaded hydraulic suspension at the rear. Bajaj V15 is equipped with 240 mm disc brake at the front and 130 mm drum brake at the rear. It provides approximate mileage of 55 kmpl.

The new V15 gives a neo-classical and versatile looks from its front windshield structure. Its other attractive features are removable cowl to make a two-seater bike, pumped-up fuel tank, classic LED tail lamp, 33 Dia big front forks, wide handlebar, double-cradle chassis, premium instrument panel with colour changing LEDs, premium textured seats, premium instrument panels, five-double spoke aluminium cast design and dust cover.

To be offered in two colour options — Pearl White and Ebony Black, V15 will be available at tentative price of above Rs 200,000.
