KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 23

Renowned writer Narayan Dhakal has released his sixth novel, 'Jagajjanani Uski Aama Ko Naam Hoina'. The book was officially launched on Saturday at Nepalaya Publication, 'r' sala in Kalikasthan.

According to a statement from Nepalaya, the novel was unveiled after the author presented a copy to his grandchildren.

At the launch event, Dhakal reflected on his five-decade-long literary journey. Recalling the early days of his reading and writing, he shared how, as a teenager, he had written a detective novel and submitted it to a publisher, only for it to remain unpublished. "After that," Dhakal recalled, "I immersed myself obsessively in the works of the world's greatest authors. That passion for reading remains just as intense to this day."

Having published his first story in 1973, Dhakal has now completed a literary career spanning 52 years. Over the course of his prolific career, he has published six novels, seven short story collections, three essay collections, two children's story anthologies, and one poetry collection, according to the statement.

The 286-page book is priced at NPR 175 and is available at bookstores nationwide. International readers can also purchase it online through platforms such as Thuprai.com and Amazon, the statement added.
