KATHMANDU, JANUARY 30

The book 'Nepathya' is now expanding from the digital realm and will enter the broader reading audience starting this week.

In a press statement, Nepalaya, the book publication house said, after over three decades, every generation of Nepali youth has grown up with the beats of the Nepali rock band Nepathya, and now, for the first time, they have the opportunity to read about it.

Written by Girish Giri, the book was developed through a long association with the band's frontman, Amrit Gurung.

This book has introduced a new marketing experiment, having already completed its pre-order phase, where it was made available directly to homes via online channels.

"We were responsible for managing the pre-order of this book," says Raju Gotame, a key player in the online book sales industry through Thuprai Dotcom. "This book has set a new record for us in terms of online pre-orders. It has successfully sold the highest number of copies via our website through digital payment methods in just two weeks."

The book offers an in-depth exploration of Nepathya's origins, its rise and fall through various periods, and the struggles faced in the pursuit of its music. It also delves into the efforts made to leverage the band's popularity for the greater good of Nepali society, reads the statement.

With the conclusion of the online sales phase, the book is now set to reach a broader audience, both within Nepal and internationally, as it enters bookstores across the country.

The initial 25 copies of the book were sold at a price of just 25 rupees, and its official entry into the market is set for February 5, the first Wednesday of the month. Starting from this day, the book will be available for purchase everywhere.

The 350-page book, priced at 815 rupees, will be available in major bookstores across the country starting Wednesday.

Additionally, arrangements have been made to make it accessible to readers outside Nepal through e-book formats and on Amazon, according to the statement.
