The show has just begun!
Kathmandu
Leaving a trail of their expensive fragrance in the air and stepping out of the fanciest cars to the blinding blitz of flashlights, the who’s who walked onto the red carpet. Stakes, as always, were high and so was the pressure for the team to keep the status intact.
In a minute or even less, the curtains would rise. The frantic hands worked as fast as they could to ensure models got down the runway with the look the designer intended. The models donned in heavy outfits waited while make-up artist Suman Lama did some last minute touch ups.
Listening to the last few pointers given by choreographer Sijan Bhattachan, the models took a deep breath. It was time for them to hit the catwalk for the first show of Blenders Pride-TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2016 on March 30 at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu.
The show began with Khusboo Dangol’s collection of traditional outfits weaved from different kinds of silk. Dangol as always didn’t fail to impress with rich resham work, elegant embellished net and brocade and crystal danglers.
This was followed by Bangladeshi designer AB Waliuddin Ahamed’s multicoloured collection that signified the Bengali New Year Festival. It was something unique for the eyes of the Nepali audience.
