Thunder ride kicks off today
KATHMANDU: To celebrate the Nepali New Year in style, Sacred Summit has organised the eight Enfield Rendezvous and Poker Run 2016 kick off from April 12 to 14. Promoted with the slogan — ‘Be a part of the biggest thunder ride ever,’ the bike rally that covers Kathmandu to Pokhara and back and will have Bullet riders playing poker on the go.
It has become one of the biggest riding fest in the country, which provides an opportunity to come together once a year to swap bike-riding stories, share the road with fellow locals and international riders.
As many as 200 Enfield and classic bike enthusiasts from around a dozen different countries — Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Nepal, Switzerland, UK and the USA will be participating in the bike rally.
Participating in this event, one can compete for the title ‘Best Enfield (original design)’ and ‘Best Customised Enfield Motorcycle.’ Besides this, one Enfield rider is also awarded with the ‘Hard Luck’ award, which will be presented to the motorcycle that has the most breakdowns. The main objective of the annual event is to promote motorcycling as a fun adventure sport in Nepal and to spread the message to all riders that two-wheeler riding is safe, sporty and exciting.
