KATHMANDU, MARCH 2

Internationally acclaimed Paubha artist, Samundra Man Singh Shrestha was honoured by Yeti Distillery Private Limited for his remarkable contribution to preserving and promoting Nepal's traditional art on the global stage.

This recognition follows the successful launch of the distillery's collaboration with the renowned artist, featuring his artwork 'The Mythical Creatures' on the Old Durbar 15 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky. The landmark collaboration is a tribute to Nepal's rich artistic and cultural legacy. Drawing from Paubha tradition, the artwork showcases mythical figures deeply rooted in Nepali heritage.

"This piece celebrates Nepal's rich artistic heritage, portraying symbolic and supernatural beings from both the animate and inanimate worlds," explains Shrestha. "The artwork pays homage to revered icons such as the peacock, snow lion, and blue lion, while also integrating the five fundamental elements - Earth, Water, Fire, Air (represented by clouds), and Sky (depicted in the dark background). It is both a tribute to our ancestors and a reflection of Nepal's cultural identity," said Shrestha.

Yeti Distillery's Managing Director, Abhishek Shrestha, reaffirmed the company's dedication to supporting Nepali artists and preserving cultural heritage.

"Our collaboration with Samundra Ji is part of a wider effort to promote and preserve Nepali folk art," Shrestha said by adding that by honouring the famous artist, his company not only celebrates his extraordinary talent but also reaffirm its own commitment to showcasing Nepal's cultural identity on a global stage. "His work is a testament to our nation's artistic legacy, deeply revered by both the art community and the public. At Yeti Distillery, we take immense pride in supporting such visionary artists and ensuring their work is preserved for generations to come," Shrestha concluded.

Samundra Man Singh Shrestha expressed his gratitude for the collaboration, stating, "I appreciate Yeti Distillery and Old Durbar's initiative to integrate traditional Nepali art into their branding. This partnership is a step forward in bringing our heritage to a broader international audience."

The ceremony was attended by prominent personalities, business leaders, and members of the art community.
